New Years Eve Nails!

This New Year I have decided to go for a dark indigo nail that practically looks black...I was going to add some bling in the form of Andrea Fulerton's nail diamonds but decided against it as I didn't want to distract from my outfit, makeup and jewellery.

I will show you my nail polish when I post the photos of my outfit :-)

If your not sure what to paint your nails then here are some of my suggestions:

Any type of glitter polish be it a Nails Inc 'Hammersmith' or Models Own 'Silver Fox'.

Other favourites include Magnetic Effects such as Nails Inc 'Trafalgar Square' (see my post on this!)

Finally you can't go wrong with a bold, statement, stand out colour that will compliment your outfit!

New Year Looks

New Year is the perfect time to try a new hair colour or cut as well as switching up your style. This could mean that you wear bright jeans or carry a bold statement bag. You might try swapping your regular grey/black smokey eye for a purple look.

What ever you decide to change may you have fun experimenting with it and I look forward to see the results!

Don't forget to post your comments below about what you'll be doing

Week One

Today is Day One, Week One of the Three Week Moisturiser Challenge. For the duration of this week I shall be using the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream.

I applied it today after I got back from a very rainy and windy run and it really smoothed out my skin and made my make up easy to apply.

I'm not going to be writing every day for three weeks about the moisturiser, but at the end of the week I shall do a overall review and at the end of the three weeks I shall compare my opinions and tell you which one I am going to continue to use!

Tonight as it is New Years, I am going to a friends house party which should be great fun! I will post some pictures later of my outfit and makeup looks!

Let me know in the comments section what your plans are and what your wearing!

Don't forget to follow!

Get Ready With Me

Here I am before work had begun!
This is me getting ready to go and meet family and then later on I shall be going out for dinner. The look is rather casual for me and the statement piece is my Alexander McQueen scarf. My makeup is not something I would usually wear during the day, but as I will be eating out I thought the red lip would go nicely.

My Makeup Look
To begin with I applied my That Gal primer by Benefit. Then the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation followed by a concealer stick and Bourjois liquid concealer. I filled in my brows using a Two Faced eyeshadow in Velvet Revolver and set all of that with a No. 7 pressed powder. Next I used my Nars Laguna Bronzer to contour my face and a Bareminerals blush in Laughter and finally adding the Bareminerals Mineral Veil. I then moved on to my eyes using Mac's Woodwinked eyeshadow and Two Faced Push Up in the crease. Then I curled my lashes and applied my Rimmel  Scandal Eyes and Benefit There Real mascara. My look is finished off with a Models Own Red lip liner and Rimmel red lip stick in number 12. - There seems to be a lot of Rimmel used today!
My Look

My outfit consists of American Apparel riding pants, a H&M black tee and Alexander McQueen scarf. I also added a black blazer from Zara as well. My shoes are not shown with the outfit but I wore my black Underground creepers.

I accessorised with triangular hooped earrings from Urban Outfitters, a leopard ring also from Urban Outfitters, a silver ring from a gift shop and a cuff hoop I found in my draw.

That Gal

My primer of choice has to be the Benefit That Gal primer as it glides on the skin beautifully!

I prefer primers to be moisturising and brightening rather than silky. I have tried the Benefit Porefessional before and although I used all of the product up I didn't get on with it as well as with That Gal due to its consistency.

Due to my skin type - oily/dry combination - a silky primer does not seem to make my makeup last. However, the more moisturising primers do seem to make my makeup stay put throughout the day.

I would definitely recommend purchasing this primer as due to its pinky colour it is a great brightening aid and looks great when worn alone too! Its easy to apply as you twist the bottom and the product comes out at the top, similar to the Girl Meets Pear liquid highlight also from Benefit.

Nails Inc Polishes

For Christmas I got many amazing gifts not to mention my gorgeous new Alexander McQueen scarf! But I also received two new Nails Inc nail polishes.

The packaging that the nail polish comes in is always lovely, in the Nails Inc bag, box and black tissue paper. It also contained a packet of love heart sweets and a refresher.

Nail polish number one is the Magnetic Effect nail polish in Trafalgar Square. Its a lovely grey/silver colour and then when you apply the magnet, the ripple design turns darker grey/black. It was a very simple application process. I simply applied one coat and let it dry and then applied another coat and immediately held the magnet over the top, giving the effect.

My only problem with this nail polish is it hasn't lasted as well as a standard Nails Inc polish. It began to chip after three days of wear, as you may be able to tell from the photograph.

So here are the photos from the Magnetic Nail Polish...I will be redoing my nails for the New Year period so stay tuned for the Glitter Polish photos and review!
